Margerita J. Banič graduated in 2010 from European Law Faculty and finished her European masters degree in 2013. She finished her second masters magna cum laude from Mississippi College School of Law in 2018. In 2019, she received a doctorate in criminal law and human rights at European Law Faculty on the thesis »Human trafficking through the prism of human rights«.
While working on her PhD thesis she collaborated actively with Frascogna Entertainment Group, where she specialized in the fields of negotiation and intellectual property, while working closely with clients in music, publishing and art industry. She speaks 7 languages and published a book on her football adventure in the South (2019).
In Slovenia she was selected for a Member of Ombudsman Council and a Member of Governmental Group for Experts in Human Trafficking. She was sponsored as a Slovenian representative to US Embassy’s International Visitor Leadership Programme for experts in human trafficking in 2015. Her academic career started in 2020 at the European Law Faculty, New University. She was certified as a Professional Coach for young lawyers from 2021 (United States Life Coach Institute). She co-established a non-profit working in the field of domestic violence and human trafficking in 2013, where she received a governmental award from the Prime Minister and Mayor for the special achievements during the COVID-19 pandemic. She published three research papers in European legal journals.
